Packwood to hold annual gingerbread house display and competition
LEWISBURG — The Packwood House Museum invites you to participate in the Packwood House Museum Gingerbread House Display and Competition. All houses will be on display in the Kelly Gallery at the museum from Dec. 1-22.
There are a variety of categories in which to enter. Pre-school and kindergarten, elementary school grades 1-5, middle school grades 6-8; high school grades 9-12; Adult 18 and older; family, group or business; and culinary — an individual associated with a culinary class.
Gingerbread for the house may be made from scratch or bought pre-made in a kit.
Wilton icing must be used to construct the house and adhere decorations. A recipe for Wilton icing, competition and design rules may be found under Museum Exhibits and Events on the museum’s website.
Entries will be judged on overall appearance, originality, difficulty of design and adherence to design.

Completed forms may be mailed to or dropped off at the Tour Center. Space is limited. Only the first 50 entries will be accepted. Registration will begin Nov. 1 and close on Nov. 15. There is a registration fee and first, second and third place ribbons will be awarded in each category.
