Reunion event raises more than $5,000 for ‘Lungs for Logan’
Mike & Dot’s II reunion event recently was held to benefit Lungs for Logan.
“It was an amazing event and I’m grateful for all those who contributed to its success,” said Logan Roush, president of Pennsylvania Cystic Fibrosis Inc. (PACFI) and the beneficiary of the over $5,000 donation that will help pay for the uninsured costs of his upcoming lung transplant.
The event was presented by Chilly Willy’s restaurant in Hartleton and held in memory of Bill and Leslie Cooper, former owners of Mike & Dot’s II in Mifflinburg. Bill Cooper had specified that he wanted the funds raised to go to Roush’s lung transplant.
Food, T-shirts, a Chinese auction, a 50-50 drawing, tournament games and live music were the highlights of the day. Featured groups were Broken Souls, Circle of Friends and Torque.
Lungs for Logan fundraising raffle tickets with a grand prize of a 2003 Nissan Murano SE AWD or $2,500 cash along with nine other prizes are still available at Chilly Willy’s, the Scarlet D, Fisher Auto Parts and Bings Auto Body in Mifflinburg, Creative Styles by Tiffany in New Berlin and the Forest House. The winning tickets will be drawn at the PACFI Soups, Stews and Chili Too Cookoff and Auction that will be held Feb. 24,2018, at the Scarlet D.
Anyone wishing to donate can send a check to Service 1st Credit Union, Lungs for Logan, 52 E. Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, PA 17844, or to PACFI, Lungs for Logan, P.O. Box 29, Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
