FCFP announces creation of YMCA endowment fund

The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) recently announced a partnership with the Williamsport Branch of the River Valley Regional YMCA to create a new organizational endowment fund. The YMCA created the fund as a permanent funding source in which a portion of the fund’s investment income will be granted back in support of their annual operational costs at the YMCA’s Williamsport branch, while the fund’s principal is protected for future charitable interest.

Jason McCahan, FCFP director of Strategic Philanthropy, stated, “The Foundation is honored to serve as stewards of the YMCA endowment fund as we partner to create a permanent funding source for their future.”

The YMCA website says they are the place where families have fun and spend quality time together, children play and build character, adults develop ways to live healthier and neighbors connect with their community.

“Endowment giving is the future of the YMCA, and with the support of FCFP on growing the endowment and working to increase donor and planned giving, the YMCA will be able to help build a stronger community today and in the years to come,” said Chad Eberhart, CEO of the River Valley Regional YMCA.
