Camp Cadet accepting applications
Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Lycoming County Police Camp Cadet, which will be held at the Little League Complex in South Williamsport June 16 to 21. Throughout the week the participants learn about various aspects of law enforcement including canine demonstrations, aviation, game commission and the judicial system.
They also participate in hands on activities such as a mock crime scene investigation, self-defense and building clearing. The camp is staffed by a wide variety of law enforcement personnel including state police, local police and corrections.
This camp is not a disciplinary camp, but a fun-filled, youth-oriented version of police training in an effort to build positive relationships between our local law enforcement and the area youth.
Camp Cadet is a 6- day, 5-night camp for kids aged 12 to 13 who reside or go to school in Lycoming County.
Camp representatives will be visiting Lycoming County schools throughout March to speak with students in sixth and seventh grades about the camp and provide applications.
