Nominations for Young Woman of Excellence are Open
The YWCA Northcentral PA is accepting nominations from educators for the 2019 Young Woman of Excellence award.
Each year at the YWCA’s Women of Excellence Celebration, one female senior from a local high school receives the distinction of being named the Young Woman of Excellence.
The Young Woman of Excellence is one who demonstrates:
Integrity, strength of character and leadership
Active participation in her community and school as a volunteer, active club or service member
A positive mentor or role model to other students
Understands and appreciates the mission of the YWCA
The YWCA Northcentral PA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
Nomination forms have been distributed to all area high schools to principals, guidance counselors and superintendents. Applications are due on September 6 and can be submitted by mail to 815 W. Fourth St. or scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
After the deadline the 2018 class of Women of Excellence will select one young woman to receive the award.
The winner is recognized as part of the 2019 class of Women of Excellence at our Nov. 7 event.
