SeniorNet introduces Windows 8, plus new courses on iPad and Facebook
Susquehanna SeniorNet at the James V. Brown Library has been offering specialized courses for seniors age 50 and older for more than a decade.
On Feb. 6, a three-session workshop on Windows 8 will take place in the Art Kline Senior Computer Center on the fourth floor of the library.
It is designed for those who have some computer knowledge and are upgrading to Windows 8 from an older system.
Participants must bring their own Windows 8 laptop.
As with all SeniorNet courses, it features small group, hands-on instruction and includes a manual. There is a cost for the sessions. A SeniorNet membership is also required, which entitles members to take all the other SeniorNet courses.
In March SeniorNet will begin its 2014 full schedule of courses.
In addition to the basic introductory courses, which will be available for both Windows 7 and 8 the line up includes photo editing with Picasa, Microsoft Photo Gallery and Movie Maker, Internet skills, computer maintenance, Microsoft Word and new courses on iPad, Macintosh, Facebook and a popular computer solutions workshop.
For more information consult the Web site SusquehannaSeniorNet.org or call the Library at 570-326-0536 and ask for SeniorNet.
A SeniorNet volunteer will then return your call.
