Aquacise and swim lessons
LEWISBURG — Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority (BVRA) will offer indoor aquatic programs at Riverwoods, 3201 River Road, in late October and early November. BVRA continues to strive to bring programs that benefit and enhance our community.
BVRA encourages children and parents in the surrounding areas to explore the many benefits of swimming, also while keeping safety in mind. In BVRA’s swim programs, participants learn at their own pace and master the skills at each level before attempting the next challenge.
Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority is offering swim lessons of varying levels in a five-week session starting at 5 p.m. Nov. 7 at Riverwoods.
BVRA will offer Aquacise at the Riverwoods pool on Monday and Thursday evenings. Classes will begin Oct. 31. The first class will be held from 6:30-7:15 p.m. with Nancy followed by Janet’s class from 7:15-8 p.m.
Nancy and Janet will lead their classes through a low impact workout while socializing with friends. Using water resistance, you will enhance your flexibility, balance and cardiovascular fitness. Aquacise is great for a total workout, strengthening pre- and post-surgery and arthritic conditions. This co-ed class makes exercising fun and is appropriate for non-swimmers.
Complete descriptions of these programs and various others are available on BVRA’s website www.bvrec.org. For more information about BVRA and the other programs offered call 570-524-4774.
