Area Agency on Aging Inc. and the PA Link to Aging and Disability Resources to hold free education event

KNOXVILLE, Pa. — The Area Agency on Aging Inc. and the PA Link to Aging and Disability Resouces will honor Alzheimer’s Awareness Month with a free education event for professionals or family members caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disesase from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Knoxville Community Building, 301 Main St.

Jeffrey Dauber of the Alzheimer’s Association will discuss the basics of Alzheimer’s disease and available resources that can help you provide the best care possible. In addition, he will offer effective communication techniques as well as ways to respond to behaviors that may be displayed by someone living with Alzheimer’s.

The event is free and open to anyone affected by Alzheimer’s disease, including professionals and community members alike.

Lunch will be provided by The Carlton and Darway Nursing Facility and reservations are required by Oct. 25.
