The Meadows schedules senior seminar series

The Meadows, A Park Home Personal Care Community, 2160 Warrensville Road, Montoursville, will host a senior seminar series at their community. The seminars will be geared toward the senior population and those that care for them.

Depending on the topic, the seminar format may include lecture, question and answer time, screenings and risk assessments. The topics will vary and may include mental and physical health, fitness and beauty, finance, legal issues and end-of-life issues. All seminars are free and open to residents, families and the public.

The two upcoming seminars are:

• 10 Tips For Children of Aging Parents — 10-11 a.m. Oct. 18

Participants will review a checklist of everything needed to provide the best care for aging parents, while protecting your family’s assets.

Presented by a certified elder law attorney from Marshall, Parker & Weber, LLC.

• Senior Crime Prevention University — 10-11 a.m., Jan.

The theme of the Senior Crime Prevention University is “AWARE, AVOID, ALERT.” This seminar is designed to make seniors aware of the scams and frauds that are out there — teach them how to avoid becoming the next victim; make them alert and observant of their surroundings and situations they are facing; and, encourage them to report any instances of scam or fraud to their local law enforcement.
