STEP RiverWalk Center hosts sea glass workshop

Mike and Deb Cillo, owners of DKC Creations LLC in Montoursville, recently instructed participants at STEP’s RiverWalk Center on how to create jewelry out of natural sea glass.

A large selection of colorful sea glass was available for the senior participants to create their own jewelry. The Cillos have visited Bermuda and Haiti to collect naturally-produced sea glass, which originates as pieces of glass from broken bottles, broken tableware or even shipwrecks, which tumble in the ocean for years until their edges are rounded off, and the slickness of the glass has been worn to a frosted appearance.
