STEP’s 14 empowered resident summer graduates

This summer, 14 people became STEP Office of Aging’s latest graduates of the PEER (Pennsylvania’s Empowered Expert Residents) Program. Robert Norton, Gloria Munsell, Marie Patchen, Jane Eck, Janis Lowe, Nancy Koppel, Gail Chang, Carl Musser, John Thebus, Karen Fink and Glen Morgan, all from The Williamsport Home, graduated from the class held at the facility. Elvira Wagner, Sharon Hile and Darlene Jacobs also graduated from the class at UPMC Susquehanna Muncy.

The PEER curriculum includes information on residents’ rights, roles of facility staff, tools like the ladder of resolution for problem solving, respecting confidentiality. and the differences in people and how to report abuse.

Outstanding PEER participants were recognized at PEER Day at the Clinton County Community Center. The Overall Outstanding PEER of the Year Award was given to Mary Davenport, of ManorCare South.
