Relay For Life Quizzo fundraiser at Sons of Italy

Show off your pop culture knowledge and do some good at the same time. The Cancer Crushing Pants Relay For Life team is collaborating with Jon Mackey’s Quizzo to hold a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society Feb. 24 at The Sons of Italy, 144 E. Fourth St.

Organizer Adam Stellfox said that the idea for the fundraiser came about because some members of the Relay For Life team play every Quizzo week and thought it would be a good way to raise money.

“We were also aware that Jon Mackey had hosted Quizzo fundraisers for other charitable events in the past, and approached him about hosting our event,” he said.

The group contacted the Sons of Italy to see if it could hold the event at the lodge.

“They were happy to donate their banquet room to hold the fundraiser,” Stellfox said.

The game, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 24, will be played like usual, with ten questions per round and four rounds total – all the questions being supplied by Quizzo host Jon Mackey.

The group has no specific goal for how much it wants to raise for this event.

“As a team, we have set a goal of $7,500 dollars for the Relay season, but we don’t set goals for single events,” Stellfox said. “We feel that all the money we raise is money we didn’t previously have and every little bit counts. We’re happy to raise anything we can in the fight against cancer.”

To register, email or arrive at 1:30 p.m. the day of the event. There is a maximum of 6 members per team and the cost of registration is $10 per person.
