Library celebrates First Friday with music from the Roaring ’20s

First Friday in November at the James V. Brown Library will feature song collector and musician Steve Sutherlan, who will play songs from the 1920s as part of the JVBLReads celebration of “The Great Gatsby” and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Sutherlan will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Moltz Rotunda Room, just inside the front vestibule of the Fourth Street entrance. The performance is free and open to the public.

Sutherlan is a singer and guitarist who began his sojourn in the Hawaiian Islands circa 1970. He’s played a lot of songs in four decades and he’s always looking for more.

Visit the library Nov. 1 to hear music from the Roaring ’20s and celebrate this talented singer.
