Enjoy ‘Holiday Music From Around the World’ at MU

MANSFIELD – The annual Mansfield University holiday choral concerts will feature “Holiday Music From Around the World” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and Dec. 7, and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 8, in Steadman Theatre.

Music from 16 countries representing five continents will be presented by more than 200 singers and instrumentalists in the Women’s Chorus, Men’s Chorus, Festival Chorus, Chamber Singers and the Concert Choir.

Peggy Dettwiler, producer and director, has programmed music from historical classics to popular favorites that celebrate the season of Christmas and Hanukkah.

The audience will also enjoy singing familiar holiday carols with organ accompaniment by Robert Dunham of Wellsboro.

The finale, “Betelehemu,” which was brought to the United States by Via Olatunji from Nigeria, will be sung with a massive percussion ensemble and combined choirs surrounding the theatre.

Tickets are available online at or by calling 570-662-4710. MU students with student ID will be admitted free.

Due to the popularity of the holiday concert, patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and arrive 30 minutes before concert time.
