Original Christmas musical runs through Dec. 22
BOILING SPRINGS – Fifteen local artists ranging from ages 6 to 14 join eight professional actors in the cast in the original play “When Santa Met Sally,” which opened Nov. 13 at Allenberry Playhouse, 1559 Boiling Springs Road.
The North Pole is all in a tizzy when Santa suddenly can’t fulfill his duties, and he must pass on the reigns to his son, Nick, to become Santa Claus one year earlier than expected. But the problem is Nick can’t become Santa without a Mrs. Claus. A flurry of activity ensues as elves, elfkins and all try to find Nick the perfect wife. The whole family will enjoy this modern-day love story filled with romance, humor, adventure, and favorite holiday songs. Matinee and evening performances will run through Dec. 22, including a special Thanksgiving Day performance.
After starring as the heroine in Allenberry’s “Wait Until Dark,” Carson Elizabeth Gregory will be featured in the light-hearted role of “Sally” in this holiday musical.
Dan Neufer will return to the Playhouse to play “Santa” and New Yorker Samuel Rene Damare will take the role of “Nick.” Making her Allenberry debut, Jodi Watson will introduce “Gina”, and returning to Allenberry’s stage, Craig Shimek will portray “Carlos.” Nathan Nolen Edwards, Siobhan Stevenson and Ryane Nicole Studivant, all in their Allenberry stage debuts, will add to the fun with lots of holiday music as “The Misteltoes.” The production will be directed by Roque Berlanga, Allenberry’s artistic director.
