Barbershop chorus to perform

LEWISBURG – The West Branch Barbershop Chorus will present its annual spring show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Weis Center, Bucknell University, 701 Moore Ave. The chorus, which is the Lewisburg chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, is directed by Matthew Poremski and draws members from Williamsport to Shamokin Dam. Chorus performances will include “Railroad,” “Don’t Blame Me,” “How Deep is the Ocean” and more.

The chorus special guest quartet, Achording to Dad, is comprised of a father – Ken Paulhamus, lead singer – and three sons, Brian, tenor; Adam, baritone; and Jeff, bass. The group was featured quartet for the Wilkes-Barre Chapter on April 27. Also performing will be four in-chorus quartets. Dale Thomas will serve as emcee.

Both the national society and the chorus actively support and promote music programs in schools. The youth group will be Mifflinburg Area High School Chamber Choir, under under the direction of Patricia M. Wagner. This select group has perormed in Canada, Boston and Annapolis, as well as at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Conference in Hershey.
