Regional Art Exhibit opens Friday at The Station Gallery

LOCK HAVEN – The Regional Art Exhibit representing the works of 25 artists and over 50 pieces of artwork will open Friday at The Station Gallery, 2 E. Bald Eagle St.

There will be cash prizes along with ribbon awards presented at the opening by Lauren McDonald of The Wealth Factory, who also will select the Sponsor’s Choice award at that time. The exhibit will be on display through June 22.

Karen Elias, board member of the CCAC, said, “The Jurying Committee had a tough job deciding what would be selected for the show from the many wonderful pieces that were entered in the competition. We had a record number of entries and artists from as far away as Landisville, Pennsylvania.

“The exhibit will not only include paintings and drawings but also graphic arts, textiles and sculptures. We continue to be amazed at the fantastic art being created in the region and the support the community has given The Station Gallery.”

Vance McCoy, professor of art at Lock Haven University, will be the awards judge. McCoy has been involved with the local art community for many years.

Ribbon and cash awards will be given to the top eight place winners that will include an award for “Best in Show.”
