Shutterbugs photography reception set for Friday

The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs will hold a wine and cheese reception Friday to celebrate the opening of the 18th Annual Juried Photography Exhibit. The gala event will be held at the Thomas T. Taber Museum, 858 W. Fourth St. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.

The display of fine art photography features work of many amateur and professional photographers from throughout the region. A wide variety of styles and subjects are exhibited – both natural and creatively enhanced digital photography make up the show.

All pieces were judged by a panel of three judges to earn a spot in the presentation. The judges for the 2013 show are David Becker, Robert Colley and Roger Shipley, who will choose nine winners from among the entries.

Each year the Shutterbugs award more than $1,300 in prize money. Ribbons will be awarded to audience favorites, and attendees will have the chance to vote for their five favorite pieces.

The photographs will remain on display at the museum through June 1 and may be viewed during regular museum hours. Schedule information is available by calling the museum at 570-326-3326.
