Williamsport Music Club sets June program
The Williamsport Music Club will hold its June program at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St.
Program chairman for June is Joanne Kiehl. A dinner for music club members will take place before the program. Dinner chairmen are Marilyn Burget and Elizabeth Belcher.
The theme for the program is “Sophistocated, Ooh Lah Lah.” Song of the month is “Down by the Old Mill Stream” by Tell Taylor. Presenter will be Georgie Ulrich, with Barbara Hall as accompanist.
The program will take place as follows:
“The Star Spangled Banner,” arranged by the Vocal Jazz Quartet, will be sung by Kathy Byham, Lucy Henry, Craig Weaver and Thomas Shellenberger.
“More,” the theme from “Mondo Cane” by Riz Ortolani and Nino Oliviero, will be performed by Tim Wetzel, pianist.
“Soliloquy,” from “Carousel” by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, will be performed by Robert Hacker, tenor, with Tom Wetzel as accompanist.
“Memory” from “Cats,” by Andrew Lloyd Webber, will be performed by Kristin Ivers, soprano, with Joanne Kiehl as accompanist.
“Oh Danny Boy,” an old English air, will be performed by Wayne Harris, tenor, with Joanne Kiehl as accompanist.
“Chattanooga Choo Choo” by Glenn Miller will be performed by the Vocal Jazz Quartet.
“Climb Every Mountain,” from “The Sound of Music” by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, will be performed by Johanne Kiehl, organist.
