Children’s painting and sketching workshop scheduled at Packwood

LEWISBURG – The next session in the Packwood House Museum’s series of summer kids’ workshops, “Inspired Painting and Sketching,” will be held from 10:30 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Students will mix mediums and share creative ideas on painting with acrylics and sketching. Some of the styles covered will include: Anime and Manga, Expressionism, Impressionism, and Abstract Art. Students also will talk about inspiration and will look at some well-known artists and where they found their inspiration to create masterpieces. Susan Colon, M. Ed., will present the program. Class size is limited to 12 students, so registration is required by calling 570-524-0323.

Packwood House Museum’s 2014 Summer Programs for Kids runs through Aug. 12. Each session will be held at the museum’s Tour Center, located at 15 N. Water St., unless otherwise noted. All programs are free, but space is limited and the museum requests that parents register their children by calling the museum at 570-524-0323. All supplies will be provided.
