National touring museum exhibit to make first stop in New Berlin
NEW BERLIN – An exhibit on loan from the German-American Heritage Museum in Washington, D.C., will be available for public viewing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, New Berlin Day, at The New Berlin Heritage Museum, located at Market and Vine streets.
The exhibit, “Berlins: Made in USA” is about towns, villages and communities through the U.S. that are named for the German capital.
It highlights the contributions and achievements of German-Americans to the United States.
New Berlin is one of 39 Berlins in the country to be featured in the exhibit and is the first stop on the nationwide traveling tour.
The exhibit also will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 3.
This year’s New Berlin Day is the 44th annual and will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
