Brown library to feature Art League works for First Friday

Works by the Lycoming Art Students League will be on display for September’s First Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the James V. Brown library, 19 E. Fourth St.

The exhibit will feature paintings by the students in varied media and will be on display in the rotunda, which is accessible from the main entrance to the library.

The league has been offering art instruction since 1991 and currently holds classes in watercolor, oil, children’s art and pastel classes by guest instructor Theresa Crowley Spitler.

Director Ed Steinhilper holds ongoing studio classes in watercolor and oil.

Steinhilper is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and holds a juried membership in the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, Pittsburgh and the North Shore Art Association in Gloucester, Massachussettes.

Studio art classes are held in the Farm Complex at 55 Pierce Lane, Montoursville.
