Award-winning photographer to speak at Grand Canyon Photography Club meeting

WELLSBORO – The Grand Canyon Photography Club will focus on the basics of photographer at its meeting at 7 p.m. April 12, with a presentation by past president Bruce Dart. The meeting will be held at the Gmeiner Arts and Cultural Center, 134 Main St.

During the presentation, Dart will show how different types of metering affects the exposure of images.

“As good as modern camera technology is today, many times the results are not what you expected,” Dart said.

The one-hour program will talk about different types of metering, as well as topics like histograms, white balance, ISO, highlights and shadows.

Dart also will explain how exposing for an image deals strongly with the following three factors: ISO, shutter and aperture, or F/stop.

Dart, a Mansfield-based photographer, has been an award-winning professional portrait photographer for the past 40 years and is a charter member of GCPC.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Grand Canyon Photography Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Gmeiner.
