Danville-based artist Van Wagner releases 20th album
DANVILLE – Folk singer-songwriter Van Wagner recently released his 20th album of original material, “A Mountain Man’s Dream.”
Wagner – whose day job is environmental science teacher at Lewisburg High School – set out to write, record and release one album a year when he began recording his original music in the mid-1990s. “A Mountain Man’s Dream” features 13 original songs, including “Pennsylvania to Alamo,” a song based on the true story of three local Pennsylvania men who traveled to Texas and volunteered to fight at the Battle of the Alamo in 1836.
The album also includes “My One Regret,” recorded with Lewisburg-based Steve Mitchell, an award-winning drummer, at Mitchell’s home studio. All songs on the album were recorded and engineered locally, by Jason Perez, of Danville.
