Mansfield University senior to hold photography exhibit
MANSFIELD – Mansfield University senior Emilee Andrews will host a biographical photography exhibit, “Memoirs,” from 5-8 p.m. April 30 at D’Vine Vineyard and Winery, 350 Garnert Road, Columbia Crossroads.
The exhibit will feature a collection of images taken by Andrews throughout the semester of seniors age 70 and older, presented with the stories of the respective individuals. The exhibit is intended to bring awareness to the importance and beauty of elderly lives. It will feature more than 20 people from local communities such as Ithaca, Corning and Elmira, New York, as well as Wellsboro, Mansfield and Gillett, including former Mansfield University professors Clark Engel and Winnie Neff.
“Emilee’s images are revealing and incredibly evocative,” said Michelle Schlegel, Mansfield University’s art department chair. “The work she is doing is so important, and I can’t think of a person more sensitive and thoughtful to walk this journey.”
Admission to the program is free and will include jazz music for entertainment.
