Summer’s First Friday activities continue
Summer might be winding down, but First Friday still brings the heat once a month in downtown Williamsport. Events and activities set for Friday include:
“Dwarf stars, Comets and Small Celestial Objects”
Detwiler Planetarium in the Lynn Science Center at Lycoming College
Washington Boulevard and Mulberry Street
Two shows: 6:30 and 7:15 p.m.
The event is open to the public. Free tickets are available that evening starting at 5 p.m. outside the planetarium. Seating is first come, first served. This month’s show will highlight smaller objects in the night sky, including dwarf planets and comets.

Meredith Grimsley, a teacher of fabric design at Bloomsburg University, creates work that includes wearable art, installation, performance, two-dimensional and three dimensional forms. Lambert, an assistant professor at Bloomsburg University, investigates the intersection between psychology and the environment.

Miller examines the average, “tough guy” persona and pairs that with common pet peeves. The work is ironic in that tough guys in film and media are known for being hardworking, heroic at times and without complaint.

For the past 43 years, the Bald Eagle Art League has been an active art club that holds art shows, inspiring monthly art meetings, classes, demonstrations and a variety of inspirational activities. The current membership, participation and community involvement has sharply increased its momentum, alongside the entire art culture of the Williamsport area. The exhibit is open to the public during regular 4th Street Grille hours.
