The Williamsport Youth Choir to perform holiday favorites
The Williamsport Youth Choir, with Emily Wertz, director, will present its annual holiday concert 11 a.m. Saturday at the City Alliance Church as part of the Victorian Christmas celebration. The program will include a wide variety of music, featuring some holiday selections. Soloists Judy Burke, clarinet and Rider Konkle, cello will perform with the group. The ensemble’s collaborative pianist is Bethany Fisher.
The Williamsport Youth Choir is an educational outreach program of the Williamsport Chamber Choir and Orchestra that performs 2-4 times per semester. Auditions are open to female and unchanged male voices in grades 5-8. Additional information is available on the ensemble’s Facebook page.
Emily Wertz is an adjunct professor of music at Lycoming College, teaching private voice, vocal methods, and assisting in the music education program. She has experience in public school and private studio teaching. She also performs as a soloist throughout the region.
