Weis Center Family Discovery Series kicks off with ‘Bubble Show’ performance
The Weis Center’s Family Discovery Series, which includes seven performances, will kick-off with B – The Underwater Bubble Show 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Weis Center. The performance is free and open to the public and appropriate for all ages. The runtime is approximately 2 hours with an intermission.
Due to an overwhelming response to this performance and in an effort to ensure everyone’s safety, we will be printing tickets to the event. Tickets will be available at the door beginning at 6 p.m. the day of the performance. Tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance. Upon distribution of all tickets we will have reached the capacity of our venue and no further guests will be admitted. Children who will not be sitting on the lap of a parent/guardian must carry a ticket for admittance. Tickets are recommended for ages 2 and up.
Attendees are asked to bring a canned food item, which will be donated to Union County Children and Youth Services and distributed to local families in need during the holiday season.
With some references and quotes from classics such as Pinocchio, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Peter Pan, B is considered a modern fairy tale in which we can all find ourselves, without age limits. The performance is suggested for all ages.
Inspired by the famous Canadian troupe Cirque du Soleil, the show is rich in various stage effects using the latest laser technologies, snow cannons, soap bubble tornadoes, theatrical fog, gigantic smoke rings, smoke-filled soap bubble machines, optical illusions and many other surprises. The well-balanced blend of drama, mime, dance, puppetry, juggling, contortionism, sand art and magic, with the amazing beauty of soap bubbles make B an enjoyable performance for all ages.
