Wiegand named arts and entertainment editor

Bethany Wiegand has been named the arts and entertainment editor at the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.

She replaces Samantha Wallace, who previously was the editor of Showcase and West Branch Life magazine. Wallace will remain as editor of West Branch Life magazine and also has taken a position with Bucknell University’s Communications department.

Wiegand, of Danville, is a native of Watsontown. She began at the Sun-Gazette in February 2011 as a part-time Lifestyle reporter. She was hired full time to the Obituary Desk in May 2013.

As arts and entertainment editor, Wiegand will be responsible for Showcase each week, as well as daily Enterainment pages and special publications.

She will continue to work with assistant lifestyle editor Jordan Musheno and various correspondents who will write stories for the Showcase section.

Wiegand graduated from Watsontown Christian Academy in 2005. She recieved a bachelor’s degree in English from Penn State Altoona in 2009, with a concentration in creative writing.
