Hamilton-Gibson to present ‘Messiah’ Community Sing

WELLSBORO — Hamilton-Gibson Productions will present the 11th annual “Messiah” Community Sing 2:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Pearl Street, Wellsboro.

Audience members are invited to sing the choruses and hear Mansfield University choral program students sing the solos of the Christmas portion of Handel’s “Messiah.” Conducting will be Peggy Dettwiler, Mansfield University’s Choral Activities director. At Mansfield, she conducts the Concert Choir, Festival Chorus and Chamber Singers and teaches choral conducting and methods.

Performing the “Messiah” will be a string quartet composed of professional instrumentalists. They include: violinists Ellen Murphy and Tim Miller, violist Aurora Manuel and cellist Brad Holtman. Marian Miller will play the harpsichord.
