Endless Mountains Film Festival set for this weekend
WELLSBORO — The second annual Endless Mountains Film Festival will be a three-day event at the Arcadia Theater, 50 Main St.. Friday, the festival begins with the screenwriters’ workshop at 10 a.m. and ends at 11:20 p.m. with the last talkback of the day. Saturday, the first screening will be at 10 a.m. and the last talkback of the day will end at midnight. Sunday, the first screening will begin at noon with the awards ceremony beginning at 8 p.m. and the after party being held from 9 p.m. to midnight.
The films will only be shown once during the weekend. The public is invited to screen 12 full-length feature films and documentaries with running times of 40 to 90 minutes and 40 shorts with running times of 2 to 28 minutes. They cover a wide variety of topics. The shorts are presented in six separate screening blocks based on whether they are documentaries, comedies, horror/thrillers, dramas, family-friendly shorts or student film shorts.
The screenwriting workshop for filmmakers and the public titled “What About the People? False Starts and Learning to Trust Our Characters” will be given by writer Mark Botts from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday. There is a cost.
