Hollywood Special Effects Show comes to city for the first time

Audiences will get a chance to get closer than ever to their favorite scenes from big-budget blockbuster movies 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St. The Hollywood Special Effects Show will bring an interactive, explosive, family-friendly experience to the stage. Live on stage, this show gives illuminating insights into the world of special effects that are usually confined to movie theaters and television screens — taking families on an exciting journey that will let them feel the heat of an inferno, marvel at fantastical sci-fi monsters, and be blown away by huge explosions. Think Mythbusters meets Universal Studios as the show demonstrates the science and secrets of creating movie magic.

The British media (Henley Times) called it an “extravaganza of pyrotechnics,” and that “we were on the edge of our seats with anticipation and were repeatedly rewarded.” The Scunthorpe Telegraph claims “Movie magic and screen secrets came to life in the Hollywood Special Effects Show,” and “The kids clearly love the action. I would recommend this show for families and anyone with a child interested in film.”

Tickets are available at caclive.com or by calling 800-432-9382. There also will be a complimentary shuttle service available one hour from show time.
