National acts announced for 29th Billtown Blues Festival
HUGHESVILLE — A slate of award winning national recording and touring acts are now confirmed for the 29th Annual Billtown Blues Festival, June 10, at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds.
The one-day event will showcase some of the most prominent blues touring acts along side local and regional favorites.
Unique this year to the festival is the presence of two highly acclaimed Canadian acts, Maple Blues Award and Juno Award nominee, and former IBC winner, JW-Jones from Ottawa and the 2017 International Blues Challenge winner from Montreal, Dawn Tyler Watson.
From East Texas will venture zydeco icon C.J. Chenier, son of the legendary Clifton Chenier. Former Muddy Waters sideman, John Primer is joining us from Detroit.
Ray Fuller will come East from Columbus, Ohio, Tas Cru and his band of Tortured Souls, and Delta blues master, Rory Block come in from New York.
The event lineup will round out after the Billtown Blues Assocation’s annual Audition Concert, planned for March 24 at the Genetti hotel, where local challenge winners are guaranteed placement on the Festival’s main stage.
