Friends of the Pipes ends concert series with Williamsport Flute Ensemble

LOCK HAVEN — The final concert of the 2018 Great Island Friends of the Pipes Winter Recital Series features the Williamsport Flute Ensemble.

The recital is slated for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Great Island Presbyterian Church on Water Street.

Tickets will be available at the door.

Rick Coulter, a retired Williamsport Area School District music supervisor, will conduct the 12-member group, as well as the Bill Town Brass ensemble.

At this recital, Ashley Crust and Mike Marini, current instructors of music, will each share the conducting responsibility on a piece.

Four voices in the flute family will be heard at this performance: piccolo, C flute, alto and bass.

The concert will include such diverse selections as Gliere’s Russian Sailor’s Dance to an arrangement of Scott Joplin’s Ragtime Dance.

Ensemble members are Sheri Yingling, Melania Scaife, Corinne Giacobbi, Peggy Morehart, Michele Mach, Lucy Henry, Nancy Moff, MaryAnn Bauer, Jacquie Engle, Mike Marini, Ashley Crust, and Jamie Chambers.
