Morgan Myles releases fresh single ‘Knew Love’
Over the last few years, Loyalsock Township native Morgan Myles has been steadily carving out a name for herself on the national country music scene. Though her career has been on a steady incline for a while now, the rising star has had an especially huge summer, beginning with the release of her first major music video in June, for the song “Acapella,” which is still working its way up the CMT 12 Pack Countdown.
Now, the big summer continues for Myles, as she released her second single of the season “Knew Love” last Friday.
The song, which is just shy of four minutes long, brings a toe-tapping beat, intricate melody and undeniable harmony. It continues Myles’ legacy of seamlessly blending soul, country and pop, and puts her fantastic voice on display, as she powers through the verses and chorus.
Along with Myles, the song was co-written by John Davidson and Jacob Bryant, of The Brummies. It was produced by Jason Mater and Corey Crowder, who also worked with Myles on “Acapella.”
If the success of “Acapella,” which has garnered attention from Rolling Stone and CMT, is any indication, “Knew Love” should quickly gain traction with country music lovers.
The song’s lyrics, which explore the heartbreak felt when someone sees their former significant other out with someone new, come across as truly genuine and heartfelt.
“When you’re in it, you would pray that it would last forever; but when it’s gone, makes you wish you never knew love,” Myles belts out in the chorus.
Currently, “Knew Love” can be found on Amazon Music’s Introducing: Country Playlist, and other major music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. Meanwhile, Myles has five shows lined up from now through October, which will take place in Milwaukee and Nashville.
