Jaime Renae Welch and Dr. Matthew Douglas Maki, both of Harrisburg, were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Sept. 20, 2013.

Presiding officer and delegate Roberta Mattioli officiated at the ceremony held at Villa Bossi, Orta San Giulio, Italy, where a reception also was held. A second reception will be held Feb. 2014 at the Hershey Country Club.

A rehearsal dinner was held at L’Ustaria Ca’ dal Rat, Orta San Giulio.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara and James Welch, of Jersey Shore. She graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in applied human services from Pennsylvania College of Technology and a master’s degree in social work from Marywood University, Scranton. She is employed by PerformCare, Harrisburg, as a children’s clinical care manager.

Maki is the son of Douglas Maki, of Tucson, Ariz., and the late Jermaine Maki. He graduated from Central High School, St. Joseph, Mo. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in health administration from University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo., a doctorate degree in medicine from University of Texas, San Antonio, Texas, and completed residency in anesthesiology at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. He was honorably discharged as captain after 6 years of service in the Air Force, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is employed by Riverside Anesthesia Associates, LTD. Harrisburg, as an anesthesiologist.

Following a three-week honeymoon touring northern Italy, the couple is residing in Harrisburg.
