Dr. Emma Grace Somers and Matthew Howard Bassett, both of Morgantown, West Virginia, were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. July 30, 2016.
The Rev. Rosemary Lloyd officiated at the ceremony held at Pierce House, Lincoln, Massachusetts, where a reception also was held.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Colman Barn, Lincoln.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Nancy Story and Dr. William Somers, of Cogan Station. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 2001. She received a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature from Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey, in 2005 and a medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, in 2014. She is employed by West Virginia University, Morgantown, as an internal medicine resident.
Bassett is the son of Mary Helen Lorenz and Kenneth Basset, of Lincoln. He graduated from Concord Academy, Concord, Massachusetts, in 2002. He received a bachelor’s degree in writing seminars from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, in 2006 and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, in 2014. He is employed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as a federal agent.
Matron of honor was Dr. Kathryn E. Somers, of Rochester, New York, sister of the bride.
Flower girl was Fiona Somera, of Drayden, Maryland, niece of the bride.
Ring bearers were Liam Somers, of Drayden, and Nathan Sabo, of Rochester, both nephews of the bride.
Best man was Daniel Bassett, of Washington D.C., brother of the groom.
Following a trip to Iceland, the couple resides in Morgantown.
