New business spotlight on Koons Agency
With years of experience dealing in insurance and financial services, George Koons figured it was time to share some of his expertise.
And so was born the Koons Agency, which opened July 1 at 151 John Brady Drive, Muncy. The agency, affiliated with Allstate, deals in life insurance, stocks and bonds, mutual funds and related services.
“We can do everything under one roof,” Koons said. “We are probably unique in that sense. So we have a little bit more to offer than the normal insurance agency.”
Koons feels the timing was just right to open an agency in the eastern end of Lycoming County, one of the fastest growing parts of the region.
“It’s easy to find, close to Interstate 180,” he said.
He’s excited about the prospects for his business.
“I’m a customer service guy at heart,” he said. “I love helping people.”
In addition to offering customers insurance and financial services, he wants to be involved in the community. That’s one reason he chose an Allstate affiliation, a company long known for its community outreach.
“I love the fact they do that,” he said.
Koons has assembled a small staff of people that can meet the needs of various customer needs. Richard Roos, a financial specialist, has many years of experience in insurance, annuities and estate planning. Roos said he likes the fact that the agency is located in a growing area.
Korine Dawes handles commercial lines and customer service, and Cristel Smith does sales and customer service with specific expertise in personal insurance and workplace benefits.
“The big thing I want to convey is to give the best customer services and be involved in the community on a local level,” Koons said.
As a special offering, customers who agree to having quotes done on their insurance needs can become eligible to enter a drawing to win tickets to the Penn State-Nebraska football game Saturday, Nov. 23.
Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and by appointment Saturdays. However, Koons said plans call for extending office hours beginning in November.
