New business spotlight on Home Instead Senior Care

Home Instead Senior Care has opened a new office at 440 River Ave., Williamsport to better serve residents in Lycoming, Clinton, Columbia and Montour counties.

Owned by Joe DeLauter, the local franchise provides services designed to help growing numbers of seniors with various in-home needs.

“We’ve been working in Clinton and Lycoming counties for six years now,” DeLauter said. “It’s good to have a formal presence inside of the community.”

The company’s CAREGivers provide personal and Alzheimer’s care, as well as companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands and shopping services that can help seniors remain independent. All CAREGivers are thoroughly screened, trained, bonded and insured.

“We believe a second office will help us better meet the needs of aging adults and their families,” DeLauter said.

Home Instead also operates an office in Lewisburg, which serves residents in Union, Snyder and Northumberland counties. The Williamsport office opened Feb. 10. With the baby boomer population continuing to grow, Home Instead is fulfilling an increasing need. DeLauter noted that the overwhelming majority of senior citizens want to remain in their homes as they age. Home Instead also serves seniors in private or rental residences, assisted living communities and other care centers.

“We want to be a leader in our industry, setting the standards and changing the face of aging as we move forward,” DeLauter said.

Home Instead is a solution, he noted, to the “senior care challenges faced by so many area families.”

Right now, the company is searching for part-time CAREGivers.
