Mansfield University to host expo

MANSFIELD – Mansfield University will host the fifth annual Northern Tier Marcellus Shale Business Expo on Wednesday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Decker Gymnasium and the upper parking lot. The event is free and open to the public.

The expo, which has been held in Troy for the last four years, connects local businesses, service providers and energy companies with each other and industry affiliated business to learn about opportunities created by the exploration and development of the Marcellus Shale.

President and CEO Bob Blair, of the Tioga County Development Corp., one of the sponsors of the expo, said the five-county event draws several hundred businesses to the region each year.

“Vendors will have the opportunity to sell lunches and other items on site,” he said.

There will be lots of heavy equipment displayed at the upper parking lot, he added.

“Mansfield University is honored to host the Northern Tier Marcellus Shale Business Expo and we’re excited to be able to bring so many business representatives and visitors to our campus,” MU President Fran Hendricks said.

“Much of the credit for Mansfield’s involvement goes to David Stinebeck, our interim provost, and Lindsey Sikorski, director of The Marcellus Institute at Mansfield University, and their teams for making this possible.”

Indoor vendor displays will be in Decker Gymnasium, with outdoor displays and demonstrations in the nearby T2 parking lot.

Organizations interested in reserving a vendor booth can do so online.
