2 credit unions in region recognized with awards
The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association handed out its most prestigious awards during its 80th Annual Convention held May 18-20 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, according to a news release. Hundreds of conferees from throughout the state attended the convention.
The Dora Maxwell Awards for Social Responsibility Award signifies a commitment to volunteering time, energy, and resources to boost the living standards of others.
An Honorable Mention went to PALCO Federal Credit Union, Muncy. PALCO also won an honorable mention in the news letter category.
For credit unions with $150 million to $500 million in assets, 1st Federal Credit Union, Danville won an honorable mention for the Desjardins Financial Education Awards, which recognize the financial literacy efforts of credit unions in educating youth.
First Federal Credit Union also won an honorable mention in its assets category for the Credit Union Annual Report Contest and first place for the newsletter category.
