New business spotlight on Wine and Design
It may take talent to be a real artist, but at Wine and Design one can create pieces of art without being a Picasso.
Here, patrons can bring their own beverages and snacks and have fun painting.
“Each night of the week we do a certain painting from the web site,” said Jody Rakoski, owner of the new business at 200 Pine St., Williamsport.
Wine and Design caters to individuals, couples, and parties.
“We have tons of different events we can cater to,” Rokoski said. “We do charitable events. This summer we will have week-long kids camps.”
Artists help guide patrons through the artistic process. All canvas paintings are 16 inches by 20 inches.
“It’s acrylic painting,” Rokoski said. “You pick a painting to do off the calendar.”
Wine and Design provides all the supplies. Rokoski described a night at Wine and Design as a way to have a “fun, relaxing evening.”
“The point is to come out and try something different,” she said.
Rokoski said she got the idea for opening her business after seeing a similar type enterprise in Corning, New York. She went there one night with her sister and enjoyed the experience and concluded the concept might work in Williamsport.
“I went down to Raleigh and purchased the franchise. It’s the first one in Pa.,” she said.
She likes the downtown location just above Aquarius Pools.
“We have lots of room there,” she said. “It’s a great space.”
Patrons can register for a night to paint or learn more about the business on the Wine and Design website at www.wineanddesignUS.com/Williamsport.
“We can do private parties. We can do off-location,” she said. “We take supplies anywhere.”
