New business spotlight on Sinner or Saint Food Truck and Catering
Sinner or Saint Food Truck and Catering could be coming to a community event near you.
Chenoa Lindsey and Nicole Oliver, who launched the mobile food enterprise last year, prepare and serve up a diverse offering of tasty delights from their truck.
“We base our menu on what is in season,” Oliver said.
A lot of what they prepare in the way of sandwiches, salads and other menu items includes produce from local farms to bring fresh and healthy meals for their patrons.
They think of that as the “saint” aspect of their business.
But when the “inner sinner” takes over, they embrace the global market and include on their menu something more exotic.
The two business partners complement each other.
Lindsey, a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Culinary Arts program, cooks. Oliver keeps the books and does the marketing.
They started the business because they wanted to do something a little different.
Lindsey said she wanted to go into business for herself and concluded that a mobile food enterprise might be fun.
“I worked in restaurants for 20 years,” she added.
They like traveling in the truck to different places where they are in demand.
Local events that include gatherings of people are prime spots for their business.
“We went to the Canton Wine & Cheese Festival,” Lindsey said. “We’ve done events in Brandon Park such as Homemade Days.”
Much of their business is conducted in the warmer months of the year.
Sinner or Saint also offers catering.
Oliver said they haven’t done a whole lot of advertising.
“Word of mouth has been best,” she said.
