New business spotlight on W Pet Salon and Boutique
By MIKE REUTHER
The W Pet Salon and Boutique offers grooming for dogs of all sizes and breeds.
Brian M. Beitz, owner of the newly opened business at 41 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, describes it as a service for “the discerning dog and their owner.”
The salon, he said, is a place where a dog will be spoiled and treated as much like a person as possible.
Beitz said there’s truly a market for people who want to treat their dogs like the beloved members of the family they are.
“We offer basic grooming services,” he said.
The salon specializes in stripping and rolling coats and has a collection of luxurious dog products.
“We offer a variety of boutique items you can’t find anywhere else,” he said.
Among the grooming and spa services are relaxing baths, shampoos, hair cutting, hot oil treatments, nail trimming, deodorizing, coat coloring, teeth cleaning and brushing, de-matting and de-shedding.
Beitz said all dogs who leave his salon leave happy and calm.
The goal, he said, is to make the experience as positive as possible for the dog.
Customers can drop off their pets for the service.
“I have a staff of five people that alternate between both salons and the kennel,” he said.
Customers can bring in their dogs to look their best for shows, family portraits or other reasons.
Another salon operates in downtown Lewisburg.
Beitz, a master groomer and professional dog handler, said he got into the business of dog grooming after spending years in corporate America.
“I love this business,” he said. “I created a business I would take my own dog to.”
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are accepted.
The business is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
