New business spotlight on Electrolysis by Kim

Kim Rimmer likes to help people look and feel better about themselves.

That’s a big reason she started Electrolyis by Kim, her new business in downtown Canton.

“It’s fun. It’s very rewarding,” she said. “I know how it can make people feel good to get rid of excess hair.”

Electrolysis, a long recognized and safe method for hair removal, fills a much-needed market niche in the Northern Tier, she said.

While there exist a lot of such businesses in metropolitan areas, one would be hard put to find them in the region.

“A lot of people have never heard of it (electrolysis),” Rimmer said.

Rimmer, who trained at the American Institute of Education in Santa Clara, Calif., has herself experienced the benefits of electrolysis.

Women and also men looking to get rid of unwanted hair growth can schedule an appointment with Kim, which includes a free consultation.

Rimmer said clients will undergo the process in a comfortable setting.

“All areas of the body can be treated,” she said. “I can testify to its permanency. I can testify it’s safe.”

Electrolyis, she noted, is approved by the Federal Drug Administration.

Rimmer said she always wanted to start her own business.

Having done electrolysis for a number of years, she decided to pursue a dream.

She’s found a positive response to her business since opening it in July.

A Canton resident, she feels she found the perfect location in the Bradford County community at 49 W. Union St. in the same building as Serenity Hair & Nails.
