A new State Farm Insurance agency has opened in downtown Williamsport.

Kellen Moore, who got started in the insurance business earlier this year, has assembled a small staff for her office at 400 Market St.

“Our mission is to educate our clients and allow them to feel comfortable and help them with their needs,” she said.

Her agency sells coverage for automobile, fire, life, and health and provides financial services.

“We can help with retirement needs also,” she said.

Moore said she decided to open up a State Farm office because the company is a reputable one.

“I wanted to be able to help people,” she said of her decision to get into the insurance business.

She noted that opening up her own agency posed its share of obstacles.

“Finding our team was a challenge. It meant finding the right people,” she said.

Among her staff is Sue Hutchins, a longtime State Farm employee who serves as office manager. Her sales reps are Sierra Massaro and Rob Bergman.

Moore said she’s happy so far with business since opening in early September.

“I am really, really excited,” she said.

She said strives to make is a customer friendly experience for clients. Community involvement is part of what the agency is all about.

Her office already has reached out to such organizations as the Uptown Music Collective.

The phone number for the agency is 570-326-5179.
