Catering service expands by offering venue

Chef Hosch and Ann Catering has found a new venue for bringing to people its unique offering of food delights.

This month, the business introduced their site at 414 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.

Richard Hoschar, otherwise known as Chef Hosch, who runs the business with his wife, Ann House, said his mobile catering business is very much alive and well. However, they recently opened the site on the eastern end of the Millionaires Row to provide space for private dining, parties, tastings, cooking classes, business meetings, and other events.

For a number of years, the two ran a cafe at Watertower Square.

“We have closed Watertower Square. It really wasn’t the vision of creativity we had in mind,” House said.

This new aspect of the business allows Hoschar more freedom to bring his culinary vision to the public. Two large rooms, including table settings and other furnishings, including House’s art work, make up the first floor.

A variety of specialty items, such as balsamic products, are displayed.

“We have spice blends,” House said.

Downstairs provides a spacious setting for big events. Hoschar noted that plans already are in the works for 2017 that could include a concert, a wedding and a banquet.

The large front porch facing West Fourth Street offers an outdoor setting for activities during the warmer months of the year.

“We are very open to the use of the building,” House said. “Our vision is to use it a couple of times a week.”

Added Hoschar: “Danielle and I are both excited,” he said, referring to Danielle Hunter, another chef with his business.

House said she and Hoschar had been searching for a site to launch this new aspect of their business. When Anna Falat earlier this year closed her Eagle Rock Winery, the site became available. Hoschar, a cookbook author and gourmet cooking teacher, said he will continue to prepare many of his healthy foods that have been popular to the local population.

“We are good for people who are gluten free,” House said.

House, an occupational therapist, body worker and former cook and baker, is careful what she eats.

A number of years ago, she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease.

“We are very excited,”  House said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for us.”
