New business spotlight on A+ Palmer Pet Sitter

MIKE REUTHER/Sun-Gazette Amie Palmer, who recently started a pet-sitting business, holds her cat.

There are dog sitters and there are cat sitters.

Then there’s Amie Palmer — she’s a pet sitter.

Palmer will look after all sorts of animals — cats and dogs, farm animals, even snakes.

“I love animals. I’ve always loved animals,” said Palmer.

Her business, A+ Palmer Pet Sitter LLC, 304 S. Pine Run Road, Linden, now is open for business. She does not board animals.

“I want the pets to feel comfortable in their own home,” she said. “I am your pet’s next best friend.”

Palmer, who holds a bachelor’s degree in business, worked at a local veterinarian’s clinic where she worked with animals.

Many of the owners of the pets, she noted, were looking for someone to look after their animals. That gave her the idea to launch her own enterprise. She made it clear she takes on many different types of pet-sitting jobs.

“I will look after birds,” she said. “If someone just needs pet sitting. If they need their fish looked after.”

Palmer owns a number of pets, including a cat and dog,

Over the years, she also has had ferrets, guinea pigs, and pythons.

Beyond her love for animals, she loves meeting new people.

She is member of Pet Sitters International and is bonded and insured.

“I am available 24 hours,” she said.
