Bank planned for Linden has manager

Rob Glunk, president and CEO and Tammy Gunsallus, senior vice president and chief sales officer for The Muncy Bank and Trust Co., announced that Bill Burget has been named the community office manager of the new Muncy Bank Linden community office. The Linden office is scheduled to open this summer.

With over 47 years in community banking, Burget has extensive experience in office management, consumer lending, and customer service. In his new role, he will be responsible for the overall operation of the Linden community office, as well as consumer and small business lending and business development in the Linden, Jersey Shore and Pine Creek market areas.

“We are so excited to have Bill join the Muncy Bank team. His experience and dedication to his customers will help provide the hometown community banking that customers want,” Glunk said, according to a news release.

Burget, a lifelong Lycoming County resident, is a graduate of the Williamsport Area High School, the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s School of Banking, the PBA Advanced School of Banking and the Mellon School of Banking. He is a former volunteer instructor for numerous PBA banking schools.

“Muncy Bank offers the type of financial products that customers want. With Bill’s hands on approach to customer service and our easy to understand products, the Muncy Bank way of community banking will fit in well with what people in the market want in a bank,” Gunsallus said.

Announcement was made by Kevin Hodrick, broker, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hodrick Realty, of the Williamsport office monthly awards for April 2017. The award for the sales associate with top production in listings went to Lance Jensen while the sales award went to Amie Penfield.

“Lance and Amie have worked so hard to get to where they are today. They both put the needs of their clients first and that is why they continue to get referrals and repeat business,” Hodrick said, according to a news release.

Rodney H. Smith, executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of West Milton State Bank, was recognized for serving 40 or more years in the banking industry at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Group 4 meeting held on April 5 at the Williamsport Country Club.

The 40-Year Club consists of regular members of PA Bankers who have completed 40 or more years of service in Pennsylvania’s banking industry.

Smith has served the banking industry for 40 years. He joined the West Milton State Bank team in June 1977 as a teller. Smith has worked in and supervised multiple departments and has held his current position as executive vice president for the past seven years. As chief financial officer and treasurer, he manages the finance division in order to ensure the ongoing management of interest rate and regulatory risks and the proper control of finance and accounting activities. Smith directs the development and maintenance of the bank’s financial plans and policies and monitors the bank’s performance against the established financial plan.

The Pennsylvania Bankers Association, located in Harrisburg, is the state’s leading banking trade association representing an expansive and diverse membership. The association offers extensive continuing education programs, government relations representation on behalf of the industry, and provides numerous products and services for banks and their employees.

Peggy L Fullmer, credit associate of West Milton State Bank, was recognized for serving 40 or more years in the banking industry at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Group 4 meeting held on April 5 at the Williamsport Country Club.

The 40-Year Club consists of regular members of PA Bankers who have completed 40 or more years of service in Pennsylvania’s banking industry.

Fullmer has served the banking industry for 40 years. As a credit associate, she is responsible for performing a variety of complex duties relating to loan documentation and processing management, and provides leadership and technical guidance to others in the credit services department. Fullmer also acts as the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act officer in that she manages the CRA information collection and reporting process. Prior to joining West Milton State Bank, she worked at Milton Savings Bank in a variety of roles.

City attorney makes

list of ‘super lawyers’

Cliff Rieders, a partner in the law firm of Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Waters & Dohrmann, has once again been selected for 2017 to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers List. A statement from Super Lawyers indicates that because Rieders has “demonstrated excellence in the practice of law,” he has received an honor that is limited “to no more than 5 percent of the attorneys within” the Commonwealth.

Super Lawyers recognizes attorneys who have “distinguished themselves in their legal practice.” The peer review selection process is “rigorous” and results in “third-party validation” on an attorney’s professional accomplishments.

Rieders has been named as a Super Lawyer in every year since the inception of the program. Cliff is a past president of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, now known as the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. He has served as an original and founding member of Pennsylvania’s Patient Safety Authority. He is a longtime member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Standard Jury Instruction Committee, which writes jury instructions and commentary provided to Judges throughout the Commonwealth. Rieders is admitted in Pennsylvania, New York, the District of Columbia, and practices in numerous federal courts including the Supreme Court of the United States.

The attorney has been recognized for his academic accomplishments as well. He has authored a variety of textbooks and pamphlets on legal topics, and lectured to many distinguished lawyer groups. As a life member of the American Law Institute, Attorney Rieders has helped to develop standard legal statements for use throughout the 50 States and the District of Columbia.

Rieders maintains an active litigation practice. He lectures and speaks before many legal groups. Rieders is a nationally board-certified trial advocate.
