The South Side Restaurant and Pizzeria offers Italian American cuisine and casual dining.

“You can come as you are,” owner Brian Haller said. “We are a family restaurant.”

Haller bought the restaurant at 324 W. Southern Ave., South Williamsport last year when it was OIP but just recently re-branded it as The South Side Restaurant and Pizzeria.

He said it’s unaffiliated with any other restaurants in the area.

“The changes we’ve made are better than I could have hoped,” Haller said.

A liquor license has been added, allowing patrons to enjoy wine, beer or malt beverages.

Customers will see minor interior renovations and the addition of three big-screen TVs.

Haller pointed to the distinctive menu featuring food prepared in-house using high-quality ingredients and unique recipes.

All bread, he noted, is freshly baked.

The menu includes Italian and seafood dinners such as spaghetti, baked haddock, eggplant parmigiana, and lasagna, as well as pizza, subs, soups and salads.

“We have great pizza, stromboli, and calzone,” he said. “Our black diamond steak salad is very popular.”

The restaurant, Haller noted, is not just another pizza shop.

Haller, who formerly worked as a general manager for a Fortune 500 company, said he long wanted to have his own restaurant.

The self-described “foodie” likes to cook too.

The restaurant seats 70 people.

Large groups and reservations are welcome, he said.

The restaurant is open seven days a week. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Take-outs and deliveries are available.

The phone number is 570-323-4045.

An open house will be held 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Samples of food will be offered along with a wine tasting hosted by Bastress Winery.
